Under the banner of UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAAN, a Medical Camp was organised by MNNIT, Allahabad in association with the Kamala Nehru Memorial Hospital, Allahabad on 7th November, 2015 at Malak May Bhashahi Village in Bahariya Block on the occasion of "National Cancer Awareness Day". The members of the Rotaract Club of MNNIT Allahabad acted as the volunteers under the able guidance and supervison of the faculty advisor Dr. Arvind Agarwal.
The camp witnessed a turnout of more than 300 people from the village and surrounding areas, who were examined free of cost by team doctors from MNNIT, Allahabad and KNMH, Allahabad which included Senior Consultant Dr. S. K. Mishra, Cancer Specialist Dr. Sonia Tiwari, Lady Consultant Dr. S. Paulson and Dentist Dr. Puneet Upadhaya. Follow up examinations were also referred to some of them.
Free medicines were also distributed to every patient visiting the camp along with pamphlets and brochures about cancer awareness. A magic show was held on this occasion at the venue attended by villagers through which people were educated on menace of cancer.
The event turned out to be a success as the local people were very happy and expressed their gratitude at the effort taken by the doctors and the organisers.
